2024 WH

The 2024 WH is featured in select Vintage 2024 Collections, available through the Vintage 2024 Offer.

Wappo Hill Vineyard, located in the Stags Leap District and first planted in 1969, continues to be a remarkable source of characterful Cabernet Sauvignon for Schrader. Crafted exclusively from Clone 685 and sourced from vines rooted in well‑drained gravelly and clay‑loam soils, this wine reflects the site’s unique natural balance. The vines benefit from ample afternoon sun complemented by cool mornings and evenings, producing intensely flavored fruit with exceptional acidity. The 2024 release offers vibrant notes of blackberry, red cherry, and briary aromatics intertwined with baking spice, floral accents, and subtle earthy undertones. Powerful yet polished, this Cabernet embodies the signature elegance of Stags Leap with a long, refined finish.

As vintage 2024 makes its way to bottle, it is shaping up to be what many in Napa Valley are calling a classic—depth of flavor, beautifully structured, and evocative of the terroir we cherish. Generous winter rains laid the groundwork for the season, easing the impact of summer heat, while warm days and cool nights culminated in a confident, well-timed harvest that allowed each site to express its fullest potential.

As winemakers, we rarely get vintages that feel close to perfection, but 2024 was one of those years where color, depth, and vibrancy came together with remarkable balance—yielding fruit that promises compelling wines with both immediate presence and long-term cellar potential.
