Celebrating 25 Years: A Commitment to Sustainability at Schrader Cellars

At Schrader Cellars, our 25th Anniversary is not only a time to reflect on our incredible journey but also to look ahead as we commit to a more sustainable and innovative future.

Sustainability efforts have become increasingly prevalent across the wine community – from growers to winemakers to wine lovers, as we recognize that ours is an agricultural industry. A collective movement has taken root to encourage environmental stewardship and responsibility, preserve the beauty of Napa Valley, and ensure its legacy endures for generations to come.

With guidance from Blake Wood, Director of Vineyard Operations at To Kalon Vineyard & Schrader Cellars, and the support and vision of winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown, we have adopted organic farming practices. This initiative prioritizes responsible land stewardship and enhances the unique character and quality of the fruit from To Kalon.

One of the most significant and direct ways we can reduce our environmental impact is to make small and thoughtful adjustments to our packaging – starting with bottles that, simply, weigh less. This is another initiative that has been driven, in large part, by Thomas Rivers Brown, and lighter glass means we are reducing carbon emissions at every stage of production and transport.

We are also introducing, for the first time, an alternative to wooden boxes. Each of our members will have the opportunity to receive their 2023 wines in our new Signature Box featuring a premium, elegant, eco-friendly, paper-composite design.

Thank you for your continued support of Schrader Cellars as we embrace these changes and carry on our legacy of crafting exceptional wines. We are thrilled to share this journey with you.
