Fred Schrader

Founder, proprietor, and fearless leader of Schrader Cellars, Fred Schrader has lived a life of true adventure. What began as a dream has become reality for this vintner — to produce world-class wines that bear his name.

Fred, better known as 'Sparky,' found a passion for soap box derby racing in his youth. He has since lived a second childhood racing Formula Ford cars on the East Coast circuit and Aston Martin motorcars around the world. Beyond producing the finest Cabernet Sauvignon in the world, Fred has made a career as an art and antique dealer as well as developed Schrader Hispañiola, an exclusive line of Cuban-inspired cigars.

When not in the vineyards, ol' Sparky can be found zooming around the Napa Valley in one of his vintage automobiles, scouring the globe for antique treasures, or spending time with wife Carol and their loyal canine Rockefeller.
